FARMI CH222 PTO WOOD CHIPPER The Farmi CH222 is a professional use PTO woodchipper. This chipper model is fed by hand. Click here for information on professional wood chippers that are fed with log loaders. The chipper is primarily used in land clearing. The Farmi CH 222 wood chipper is self-feeding because it has two feed rollers that are each powered with a 24 cu inch hydraulic motor. The motors provide a total of 10 hp of dragging power. Click here for smaller hand fed chipper models.
THE CHIPPER ALSO WORKS IN CRAMPED AREAS The feed chute is offset so it does not
stick out to the side, so the chipper can be fed from the back. This feature enables the
chipper to be used in cramped conditions such as between rows in an orchard. EFFICIENT CUTTING The chipper has quality bearings, which
enables the chipper to be run up to 1000 rpm. The chipper is cutting at that speed 32
times per second. This provides for high production, the material can be fed up to 2 feet
per second. The feed speed is continuously adjustable by
setting the valve that selects the oil flow to the hydraulic motors. DISK CHIPPER The Farmi CH222HF is a disk chipper
where the chipping action is away from the operator. The disk of the chipper weighs 488
lbs. The heavy rotator carries a lot of inertia, which
provides for smooth chipping. SAFETY FEATURES The chipper is operated from a control
bar, which runs across the feed chute. The operator can select forward feed, a neutral
position or can even reverse the feed to run the tree back out.
The air intake is on the side of the tractor which is
toward the tractor so much of the chipping noise is directed away from the operator.
The discharge of the chipper is above eye level and the direction can be adjusted 360 degrees. EASE OF SERVICE The Farmi wood chipper was initially designed in 1981 and remains a straightforward low maintenance land clearing wood chipper. The changing of the knives is simple, as the operator only needs to remove six knife bolts to change both knives in the chipper. The knives sit in a knife pocket which is machined into the chipper disc. The sharpened knife is simply dropped into the knife pocket and fastened with three bolts and there is no need to do any adjustments to the knives. The knife pocket supports the knifes from the back so the stress of the chipping is not on the knife bolts.
