The Felling Process
 |
1) The red grapple jaws
are used to stabilize the tree when cutting and when tilting the tree to the ground.
The grapple jaws are also used to move and load felled material. 2) The black jaws clench the tree during the shearing process, and
provide support to the guillotine during the shearing process. |

The red grapple jaws hug the
stem, and the black guillotine jaws close around the stem. |

| The yellow
cylinders close and open the black jaws which secure the tree. A third cylinder
extends the guillotine shear, and the tree is cut off. |

The tree is then dropped to the ground, with
the tilt |

The jaws are then opened and the tree is
released. The grapple jaws can then be moved to the balance point of the tree, and
the tree can then be loaded. |
